We received a call from a customer yesterday about a shattered smooth top glass on her Maytag range. The report was that she was cleaning it with a cream paste after using the range. Please wait to clean these type of units after they have cooled down ! It is highly possible for these glass tops to spiderweb and crack if being cleaned while the surface is still hot ! Remember these glass tops are very expensive ($250.00-$450.00) and sometimes this repair may not be worth doing as it can sometime exceed the value of the range.
